About the Foundation
The Charoen Pokphand Foundation for Rural Life Development was established in 1987
on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great’s 60th Birthday Anniversary.

Senior Chairman Dhanin Chearavanont, together with C.P. Group employees, dedicated their time, resources, and expertise to implement projects following in the footsteps of His Majesty. Initially founded as a fund, it was renamed the “Rural Life Development Foundation” in 1989, and later, in 2018, became the “Charoen Pokphand Foundation for Rural Life Development.” Today, the Foundation enters its fourth decade of operations.

In its first decade (1987–1996), the Foundation set out with the goal of nurturing good people, good citizenship, and good careers. Key projects initiated during this period, which continue to operate today, include the Youth Agricultural Training Center Project and the Agriculture for School Lunch Project—later developed and renamed the Egg-Laying Hen for Student Lunch Project—as well as support for royal-initiated projects such as the Huai Ongkot Royal Project in Kanchanaburi Province.

During the second decade (1997–2006), the Foundation expanded its development efforts, focusing on building stable occupations and incomes, enhancing child and youth development, and advancing agricultural practices. Significant projects launched in this period and still active today include the Integrated Farming under the Royal Initiative Project in Buriram Province, the Pak Ro Subdistrict Career Development Project, the Cultural Community Foster Family Project, the Cooperative Village Royal Project, and the Scholarship Support for Students under the Royal Patronage.

In the third decade (2007–2016), the Foundation faced new challenges and embraced fresh thinking and approaches across many areas. This included strengthening collaboration within C.P. Group and with partners from all sectors to advance sustainable development.

In the current fourth decade (since 2017), the Foundation has elevated its operations by setting new strategies and refining its goals and vision to align with the changing social context. The Foundation has also initiated new projects to address the challenges of the modern era.
