Luang Prabang Orphan School in Lao PDR is under the Ministry of Education. A number of the school’s students are poor while their parents lack knowledge in nutrition or neglect their nutritional status, thus resulting in malnutrition. The school, therefore, launched the project to raise layer chickens to support a lunch program for students. Layer chickens are easy to raise and are economic animals that can generate good income for breeders. C.P. Lao has contributed by improving chicken houses and sponsoring layer chickens, lunch and knowledge for target schools under the program.
