December 14, 2017, Bangkok – Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd. (C.P. Group) announced today that the company and its subsidiaries, Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF) and True Corporation Plc. (True), received the Sustainability Report Outstanding Award 2017 while CP All Public Company Limited (CP ALL) received the Sustainability Report Recognition Award from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Thai Listed Companies Association (TLCA).
The award ceremony was held at the Auditorium of Prof. Sangvian Indaravijaya at the Stock Exchange of Thailand. Mr. Rapee Sucharitakul, Secretary General of the Securities and Exchange Commission and Ms. Oranuch Apisaksirikul, President of the Thai Listed Companies Association, together chaired the award ceremony.
C.P. Group published its first sustainability report this year to reinforce its corporate sustainability policy in line with the Global Reporting Initiative's (GRI) principles. The report covers all dimensions including the economy, society and environment.
Mr. Noppadol Dej-Udom, Vice Chairman of Sustainability, Corporate Governance and Corporate Communications of C.P. Group, received the ‘Outstanding New Comer Sustainability Report Award 2017’ on behalf of Charoen Pokphand Group and said, "C.P. Group and its subsidiaries are honoured to receive the awards this year. It reflects the intent of the Group and its affiliates to be sustainable businesses that benefit the community, society and country."
Mr. Wuthichai Sithipreedanant, Senior Vice President for Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development at CPF, and Dr. Teerapon Tanomsakyut, Chief Innovation and Sustainability Officer at True, received the Outstanding Sustainability Report Award on behalf of CPF and True respectively. Mr. Suwit Kingkaew, Senior Executive Vice President at CP ALL, received the Sustainability Recognition Award on behalf of CP ALL.
The Sustainability Report Award 2017 was held for the fifth year by the CSR Club of TLCA and Thaipat Institute, with the support of the SEC and TLCA. The criteria used to award the sustainability report include three aspects, which are 1. Completeness, 2. Credibility, and 3. Communications. The event aims to promote ESG (Environment, Society and Governance) reporting among Thai companies and to drive the long-term development of sustainability in Thailand’s private sector.
