Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont , Chief Executive Officer of Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Group), revealed that the Group is committed to upholding respects for human rights in its operations, throughout its businesses along the supply chain. C.P. Group has set human rights as one of the company’s sustainable development goals to become an organization with global human rights standards. The Group developed its inaugural Human Rights Report in Thailand with a comprehensive disclosure of business operations in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles Reporting Framework (UNGPRF). This report is published on December 10th, on World Human Rights Day, to reinforce C.P. Group and its affiliated companies’ commitment to operating with respect for human rights in accordance with international regulations and legal frameworks in every country the Group invests in, and in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs).
The C.P. Group CEO added, “I hope this C.P. Group Human Rights Report will serve as a channel for our stakeholders to learn about our undertakings with regards to human rights, and lead to exchange of ideas and recommendations so that we can continue to strengthen our human rights practice further, by improving our own operations and working with our partners along the value chain.”
Furthermore, Mr. Noppadol Dej-Udom, Chief Sustainability Officer of C.P. Group, revealed that C.P. Group is committed to respecting human rights of all stakeholders and rights holders who may be affected by business operations, or conducting business relationships. The guidelines for promoting and respecting human rights have been clearly defined through the Code of Conduct that applies to all employees in every company including business partners or suppliers. C.P. Group is determined to integrate universal human rights principles throughout its business operations and supply chain, by implementing the Human Rights Due Diligence process to assess human rights impacts as part of the organization's culture to monitor and report on human rights performance with open channels for complaints and remedies.
