APPROACH
Human rights issues are one of the globally addressed concerns. Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Group) recognized that inherent dignity and the equal rights of people is the foundation of freedom, justice, and peace. With our diversified businesses involving a wide range of stakeholders and periodically expansions, C.P. Group is aware of potential human rights risks and challenges that may affect the business. Therefore, the Group strives to continuously improve own operations’ standard as well as the suppliers and partners. Moreover, ensuring respect for human rights by, among others, promoting quality and fair labor practices, eliminating all forms of discrimination, managing occupational health and safety in all the business units.
To prevent from human rights risks and create opportunity for sustainable growth, C.P. Group has based our human rights management on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP).
The Human Rights and Labor Practices Policy and Guideline
covers the processes of policy making, formulation of operational procedure, human rights due diligence and mitigation of the human rights impact. The business units and suppliers have encouraged to adopt the same management standard assuring that no human rights violation occurs throughout the Group’s entire supply chain. As C.P. Group focuses on a proactive approach to prevent and mitigate high-risk human rights issues, the current human rights due diligence process has also been incorporated into the Group’s merger and acquisition process.
