4 MAY 2018 – The Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Group) organized its first-ever ‘C.P. Group Technology Summit’ by bringing together nearly 100 technology-related leaders from the Group’s business units to help drive technological advancements in the Industry 4.0 era. Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, CEO of C.P. Group, presided over the event during May 2-3 at AIA Tower Office in Bangkok, Thailand.
Mr. Suphachai stated that the ‘C.P. Group Technology Summit’ represented a critical step for the Group to internally collaborate on technology and collectively address the challenges of operating in a rapidly-changing and tech-driven Industry 4.0 era. Furthermore, as the C.P. Group is a Thai conglomerate whom is responsible for assisting Thailand’s 4.0 policy and goal of becoming a regional technology hub, the Group will combine its resources to further engage with technological advances such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain Technology, DNA Technology (Gene) and Nano Technology.
The ‘C.P. Group Technology Summit’ was hosted by Dr. Elisabeth Xu, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Charoen Pokphand Group. Dr. Xu, who is a world-renowned global technology expert, has over 20 years of experience in developing, deploying and supporting software-as-a-service, big data, and mobile enterprise software. Before she joined the C.P. Group, Dr. Xu was CTO at BMC Software and was responsible for the company’s Central Technology Organization and Digital Service Management BU Engineering Organization. Before joining BMC, Dr. Xu was group vice president of product engineering at Acxiom. She was the Global SVP of product development at Rearden Commerce, a partner at Business Innovation Services, and the Global SVP of product development at Vitria Technology. Dr. Xu's career also includes several years at IBM developing the IBM Content Management Suite and DB2. Recently, Dr. Xu was inducted into the Women in Technology International (WITI) ‘Hall of Fame’ and in 2015 was selected as one of Silicon Valley Business Journal’s ‘100 Most Influential Women in Silicon Valley’.
